Law Enforcement Request Policy
Version 1.3 · Effective September 14, 2026
This policy explains how Macyou LLC responds to requests for customer information from law enforcement, regulators, and other government authorities. It is written for both requesting authorities and our customers.
1. Our Role
MacYou is operated by Macyou LLC, a limited liability company registered in Georgia (entity ID 445839503). We provide dedicated Apple hardware and related infrastructure on a rental basis. As set out in the Shared Responsibility Model in our Terms of Service, the customer is the sole system administrator and data controller for the content on their machine. We do not monitor, moderate, or curate customer workloads, and we are not the author or publisher of customer content.
Statutory status. Macyou LLC is a provider of intermediary services of the hosting type within the meaning of the Law of Georgia on Electronic Commerce. MacYou has no general obligation to monitor stored information or to seek facts indicating unlawful activity, and operates a notice-and-takedown process under our Acceptable Use Policy. Equivalent regimes applicable to customers with a nexus to other jurisdictions are addressed in our DMCA & Takedown Policy.
MacYou acts on valid reports and lawful orders. Triage and enforcement are governed by our Acceptable Use Policy. Reports of abuse from any source may be filed via our abuse form or abuse-macyou@macyou.co, and copyright complaints under our DMCA & Takedown Policy.
2. Where to Send Requests
All requests from law enforcement or government authorities must be sent in writing to legal@macyou.co, on official letterhead, from an official government email domain. We do not accept requests by phone, chat, or social media, and we do not disclose customer data in response to informal enquiries.
A valid request should include:
- the issuing authority, case or reference number, and legal basis;
- the name, title, and direct contact details of the requesting officer;
- identifiers that let us locate the account — the customer email, account ID, deployment ID, hostname, or an IP address together with a date, time, and timezone;
- a precise description of the data sought; and
- any applicable deadline and non-disclosure obligation.
Requests that are overbroad, unclear, or lack a date-and-time window for IP-based identifiers cannot be processed and will be returned for clarification.
3. Legal Basis & Jurisdiction
Macyou LLC is established in Georgia and its infrastructure for customer workloads is located in Georgia. We disclose customer data only where we are legally compelled to do so, and only to the extent compelled.
Georgian authorities. We respond to orders, warrants, and requests issued under Georgian law by a competent Georgian authority or court.
Non-Georgian authorities. A subpoena, warrant, or order issued by a foreign court or agency is not directly enforceable against Macyou LLC in Georgia. Foreign authorities should proceed through a mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT), letters rogatory, or another recognised channel of international cooperation, so that the request is given effect by a competent Georgian authority. We may voluntarily provide limited basic subscriber information in response to a foreign request only where doing so is lawful under Georgian law and consistent with our obligations to customers, including under the GDPR.
Where a request conflicts with applicable data protection law, MacYou may object to it or seek to narrow it before disclosing anything.
4. What Data We Hold
MacYou holds the following categories of data, subject to the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy:
- Account records — identifiers and registration metadata for the account, and the record of acceptance of our terms.
- Billing records — invoices, amounts and payment references.
- Machine assignment records — which account was assigned which machine, and when.
- Platform activity logs — control-plane actions taken by the account.
What MacYou does not hold.MacYou does not retain the contents of customer workloads, customer traffic payloads or packet captures, and holds no standing copy of the data on a customer's machine. On termination, customer data is deleted from the machine as set out in the Terms of Service.
Identity information is held to the extent collected under our AML & KYC Policy.
5. Preservation Requests
On a properly submitted preservation request, MacYou may preserve the records described in Section 4 that exist at the time of the request, pending service of valid legal process. Preservation does not itself result in disclosure and does not extend to data already deleted. MacYou may also preserve records on its own initiative where an account is suspended or terminated for a suspected violation.
6. Emergency Requests
Where a request involves an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm to a person, or apparent child sexual abuse material, MacYou may act without waiting for formal process to the extent permitted by law, including by suspending the deployment, preserving records and disclosing the limited information necessary to address the emergency. Mark such requests EMERGENCY in the subject line to legal@macyou.co and state the nature of the risk.
7. Notice to Customers
MacYou's practice is to notify a customer before disclosing their data, so that the customer has an opportunity to object. MacYou will not give such notice where it is legally prohibited from doing so, where the request relates to an emergency under Section 6, or where notice would be futile or counterproductive. This Section states a practice and does not create an obligation enforceable by any customer or third party.
8. Costs & Scope
MacYou produces only the specific records described in a valid request. Except where compelled by law, MacYou does not conduct open-ended searches, provide bulk access, install interception capability, or grant authorities direct access to its systems or to a customer's machine. Where permitted, MacYou may seek reimbursement of the reasonable cost of responding to voluminous requests.
9. Transparency
Where required by applicable law, MacYou publishes a transparency report covering the volume of takedown, abuse and government requests received and how they were handled, as described in our DMCA & Takedown Policy.
