The short version

Scaleway, european cloud with Mac mini bare-metal, is a good fit for teams already on Scaleway's cloud who need vanilla macOS build machines. Entry pricing is about $164/mo for a M4 · 16 GB · 256 GB machine. The two things most people miss before signing up: prices are EUR excl. VAT (€149 / €165 / €199 / €335), USD shown at about 1.10 and 24-hour minimum allocation (Apple licensing). If your workload is AI inference rather than iOS builds, the lack of pre-installed inference stacks is the biggest practical gap.

Reading the Scaleway price list

Scaleway's Mac prices are among the most transparent in the niche: one page, euro figures, hourly and monthly side by side. Two things to keep in mind when you compare them to dollar prices elsewhere. VAT is not included, which matters for individuals inside the EU, and the hourly rate only helps if you actually release the machine, because the first 24 hours are always billed. The real ceiling is memory: 64 GB is the top, so a 70B model at Q4 fits but a 123B does not, and there is nowhere to grow inside the same account.

Scaleway offers Apple Silicon as bare-metal Mac minis alongside its general cloud: you get a vanilla macOS machine with SSH/VNC access and hourly or monthly billing. It is a solid choice for iOS CI runners inside an existing Scaleway account, but the machines come empty (no AI stack, no OpenAI compatible API), the lineup tops out at an M4 Pro with 64 GB, and Apple licensing imposes a 24-hour minimum on every allocation.

Who should choose Scaleway

Scaleway is a good fit for a team already running on Scaleway that needs macOS CI runners next to its other workloads, with EU jurisdiction and a French data center as a genuine advantage for European companies. It is a poor fit for AI inference beyond the 64 GB class, and every machine needs a day of setup before it serves a model.

Is Scaleway's Mac mini pricing in euros or dollars?

Euros, excluding VAT: 149, 199 and 335 euro a month for the M4 16 GB, M4 32 GB and M4 Pro 64 GB rows on our October 2026 check, plus 165 euro for an M4 with 16 GB and 512 GB. We convert at roughly 1.10 for the dollar figures on this site; the exchange rate and VAT status change what you actually pay.

Can I get a Mac Studio or 128 GB Mac at Scaleway?

No. The Apple Silicon lineup tops out at a Mac mini M4 Pro with 64 GB. For 128 GB or 256 GB of unified memory you need a provider that hosts Mac Studio class machines.

Does Scaleway bill Macs hourly?

Yes, but with a 24 hour minimum per allocation because of Apple's licensing terms. A Mac you keep for two hours is billed for 24. Kept for a full month, the hourly rate works out to the monthly prices above.
